How It Works
Every donation to the Hill City Area Community Foundation goes into our own endowment account with the South Dakota Community Foundation. These donations are never removed and continually grow as the interest accrues. Each year the Hill City Area Community Foundation is able to award grants from a portion of the interest accrued from the total balance of the account of the previous year. Local non-profits apply for grants specific to projects their organization want to complete that better the community and the lives of those that live in and visit Hill City. Any donation to the Hill City Area Community Foundation is a forever gift that gives back to the community over and over again.
